INTRODUCTION
The 10 bedroom guest accommodation, trading as The Glen Allan, can cater for the needs of many visitors. The following statement is a summary of the facilities provided. If you have any questions which haven’t been addressed in the statement, please get in touch.
PRE-ARRIVAL
The physical structure and layout of the building makes the premises unsuitable for people with serious mobility impairment.
It is possible to accommodate guests with a hearing or visual impairment if they are accompanied so as to ensure their safety.
Information about Glen Allan can be accessed via its basic website.

The nearest bus stop is approximately 5 minutes walk away.
Trams go right along the Promenade from Starr Gate to Fleetwood. The nearest tram stop is 5 minutes walk away.
The nearest major train station is Blackpool North, which is either a 5 minute car or taxi journey away or approximately 15 minutes walk.
Blackpool International Airport is a 10 minute car or taxi distance away. A taxi can be booked for you. Please ask.

Blackpool town centre is approximately 2 minutes walk away.
ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES
If arriving by car, the large pay & display car park is situated approximately 100 yards away at the bottom of the road.
Assistance with luggage is available.

MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
Access to the standard single width front entrance door is via one stone step.
The entrance hall is on the level and has a fitted carpet.
Seating is available in the reception/bar area.

The door to the bar/dining room leads of the hall.
PUBLIC AREAS – GENERAL
The building has 3 floors, ground, 1st and 2nd. Except for bedrooms and bar wc all public areas are on the ground floor.
Corridors, stairs, bedrooms and public areas are well lit and are fitted with carpet. The bar area has a wooden floor.
A public payphone is situated in the hallway.
The stairs throughout the building are of normal dimensions.
The public bar wc is on the first floor corridor.
DINING ROOM & BAR
All meals are served in the dining room on the ground floor.
Dining room furniture can be moved on request.
Chairs are all without arms.
Special diets, ie vegetarian, can be catered for with prior notice. Anyone with a life threatening allergy, ie peanut, shellfish can be catered for only after discussion with staff regarding dietary needs.
Background music to both dining room and bar is provided.
The bar doesn’t have set hours but is generally closed at about 11pm.
A television set is located in the bar area.

BEDROOMS
There are 10 bedrooms in total.
All bedrooms have fitted carpet.
All bedrooms are en-suite.
There are 5 bedrooms on the first floor. 1 family room (1 double bed, 1 single bed). 1 family room (1 double bed, bunk beds). 2 double rooms (1 double bed in each). 1 small double ( double bed).
There are 5 bedrooms on the second floor. 1 family room (1 double bed, 1 single bed). 1 family room (1 double bed, bunk beds). 3 double rooms (1 double bed in each).
In rooms 3,4,6,8 & 10 the double bed is accessible from both sides.
All bedding is none feather.
Each bedroom has a colour tv with remote control.
Each room has a basic electric kettle.
All bedrooms have standard fire doors and smoke detectors.
EN-SUITE BATHROOMS
All bedrooms have en-suite facilities containing shower, toilet & wash basins.
All en-suites have tiled or linoleum flooring.
GROUNDS & GARDENS
There is a small paved area at the front of the building. Seating available on request.
Smoking is permitted on the paved area and a wall mounted ash bin is provided for the safe disposal of cigarette butts.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Glen Allan is open all year.
From 1st July 2007 smoking will not be allowed in any part of the building.
A L2 fire alarm system is fitted which rings very loudly on all levels.
Front and back door can be used for evacuation.
Emergency lighting is fitted throughout the building.
There is a water filled fire extinguisher on all floors.
All rooms are provided with a welcome folder. Amongst other useful information this contains telephone numbers for emergency, medical and dental services. It also contains both the main phone number & the owners mobile number for use in cases of emergencies.
The Glen Allan is situated just 2 roads back from the promenade.
